Site History

It all started in 2003, when I found some cartoon doll websites. I don't remember exactly which one I saw first, but I think it was either an Angelfire site called Star Kisses, Gold Sparkll or Egypt Kiss. One of my favorite sites at the time was Doll Paradise. I thought they were really cool and wanted to make my own site, but at that point I had no idea how. I first tried out coding on AOL Hometown, because I had AOL dial up back in the day. I failed at it and thought putting a textarea over an image was coding a layout. My "layout" was some unicorn image I took off the internet with Mystical Dreams added to it in Paint.

After looking at a few HTML help websites, I decided to make a site called Dollie Delight on Geocities. I have no idea what I was thinking, because I hate the word dollie now. I made a pink and blue frames layout with a header frame at the top, 2 menus, and a content box, because that was what everyone else was doing. Then I realized the name was taken, and started up a new site. I called it Tropical Sparklez and used the same frames layout, but I got bored with that name. So I made yet another site called Sweet Sparkles and used that same pink and blue cotton candy themed layout (which was really crappy lol). I never finished or opened any of these sites because I thought that I wasn't good enough at graphics.

Once I got better at graphics, I started working on a new site, Dazzlin Dollies. Annette from Precious Pixels bought me a domain, and I was hosted by Nate from Yummie Mix. I spent about 6 months working on the site and I opened in September 2004. I also made a few other sites while that was open, like a fanlisting, The Dollie Zoo (still viewable for lulz), Dollie Construction Site, and The Doll Museum. DD was somewhat popular for a while, but I got bored with it. In spring 2005, I decided I didn't like palace dolls anymore and deleted the doll section from my site. I closed my site sometime in June since I hated the name and didn't like cartoon dolls anymore. I also wanted to start over with a completely new site since my computer's hard drive crashed and I lost all of my files.

I thought of a new site name that I actually liked, Sugary Sweet. I opened SS in fall 2005, and I've had it for a few years now :)
